We want that discussion to be lively and open, and welcome disagreement — but it works best when everyone keeps it civil, relevant and within the law. The standards below exist to protect that, and we moderate with them in mind.
Keeping it lawful
We will remove comments that:
- Contain potentially defamatory statements
- Are in contempt of court
- Risk breaching copyright law
- Risk breaking UK law in any other way
Respecting other people
We will remove comments that:
- Are abusive or disruptive
- Are offensive
- Contain someone's personal details
Keeping discussion useful
We will remove comments that:
- Are off-topic
- Contain spam or advertise a product
- Contain unsuitable links
- We are unable to moderate (for example, because they are not in English)
Flagging a comment
